Executive Summary

CVE-2026-72753 affects Routinator versions up to 0.15.2 by mishandling delta updates in RRDP notification files. Gaps in delta entries may cause missing data, and too many entries can exhaust memory.

Detection Guidance

Check Routinator version with 'routinator --version'. If it is 0.15.2 or earlier, the system is vulnerable. Monitor memory usage during RRDP updates and inspect RRDP notification files for gaps in delta entries.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability could lead to missing RPKI data due to gaps in updates or system crashes from memory exhaustion, disrupting routing security and validation processes.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade Routinator to version 0.15.3 or later immediately. If upgrading is not possible, restrict network access to RRDP services and monitor for unusual memory consumption during updates.
