Executive Summary

This is a command injection vulnerability in TP-Link's Archer AX90 V1 router. It exists in the TDDPv2 service, specifically in the setProductVer command handler. An unauthenticated attacker on the same network can exploit this during device boot to run arbitrary operating system commands with root privileges.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, check if your Archer AX90 V1 router is running firmware version 1.1.4 Build 20260927 or later. If not, the device is vulnerable. Use the router's admin interface or SSH to verify the firmware version.

Impact Analysis

Exploitation may lead to complete device compromise. An attacker could gain full control of your router with root privileges, potentially allowing them to monitor network traffic, steal data, or use your device in malicious activities.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access and control of network devices, potentially exposing sensitive data. For GDPR, it may result in data breaches requiring notification under Articles 33-34. For HIPAA, it could compromise protected health information if the device is used in healthcare environments.

Mitigation Strategies

Update the firmware of your TP-Link Archer AX90 V1 router to version 1.1.4 Build 20260927 or later to patch the vulnerability.
