Executive Summary

CVE-2026-97714 is a high-severity vulnerability in the authentication subsystem of Secure Access servers running versions before 14.60. Attackers can send a malformed response during authentication, causing a persistent denial-of-service condition where the server remains unavailable until manually fixed.

Detection Guidance

Detecting this vulnerability requires monitoring Secure Access servers for unusual authentication failures or persistent service disruptions. Check server logs for repeated malformed authentication responses during login attempts. Verify server version against 14.60 or later to confirm if the system is vulnerable.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability can disrupt critical services that rely on Secure Access servers by making them unavailable. Since it doesn't require user interaction or special privileges, it can be exploited remotely over a network, potentially affecting organizations using vulnerable versions.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could impact compliance with GDPR and HIPAA by causing persistent unavailability of authentication services, potentially leading to unauthorized access or data processing disruptions. A DoS condition may violate availability requirements in these regulations, especially if critical systems are affected.

Mitigation Strategies

Update Secure Access servers to version 14.60 or later to address the vulnerability in the authentication subsystem.
