Executive Summary

This is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Alosuite affecting the delivery note functionality. It occurs due to insufficient sanitization and encoding of certain fields, allowing JavaScript code to be stored. When other users view these records, the malicious script executes in their browsers, potentially altering displayed content or performing actions within their session.

Detection Guidance

To detect this stored XSS vulnerability in Alosuite, inspect the delivery note functionality for unsanitized input fields in the '/CategoriasFicheros/Edit/{id}' endpoint. Check for JavaScript code execution when viewing affected records. Manual review of input/output handling in the application is required.

Impact Analysis

An attacker with authenticated access could inject malicious scripts that run in other users' browsers. This could lead to session hijacking, unauthorized actions on behalf of users, or defacement of the application. Users might unknowingly execute harmful code when viewing delivery notes.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access or data breaches, violating GDPR's integrity and confidentiality principles. For HIPAA, it may compromise protected health information integrity. Both standards require safeguards against unauthorized code execution and data tampering.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply input validation and output encoding to sanitize user-supplied data in the delivery note fields. Ensure all dynamic content is properly escaped before rendering. Update to the latest patched version of Alosuite if available. Restrict authenticated access to the affected functionality as a temporary measure.
