Executive Summary

This is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Alosuite affecting the delivery note functionality. It occurs due to insufficient sanitization and encoding of certain fields, allowing JavaScript code to be stored in the application. When other users view these records, the malicious script executes in their browsers, potentially altering displayed content or performing actions within their session.

Detection Guidance

To detect this stored XSS vulnerability in Alosuite, inspect the delivery note functionality for unsanitized input fields in the '/Familias/Edit/{id}' endpoint. Check for JavaScript code execution when viewing affected records. Manually review stored data in the application database for suspicious scripts in fields like 'Nombre'.

Impact Analysis

An attacker with authenticated access could exploit this to inject malicious scripts. This could lead to session hijacking, defacement of web pages, theft of sensitive data, or unauthorized actions performed on behalf of the victim. Users viewing affected records may unknowingly execute harmful scripts.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access or data breaches, violating GDPR's integrity and confidentiality principles. For HIPAA, it may compromise protected health information (PHI) integrity. Non-compliance risks include fines, legal action, and reputational damage due to inadequate security controls.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply input validation and output encoding to all fields in the delivery note functionality. Sanitize user-supplied data before storage and ensure proper escaping when rendering in browsers. Restrict authenticated access to the '/Familias/Edit/{id}' endpoint to trusted users only.
