Executive Summary

This is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Alosuite affecting the delivery note functionality. It occurs due to insufficient sanitization and encoding of certain fields, allowing JavaScript code to be stored in the application. When other users view these records, the malicious script executes in their browsers, potentially altering displayed content or performing actions within their session.

Detection Guidance

To detect this stored XSS vulnerability in Alosuite, inspect the delivery note functionality in the '/Inmuebles/Create' endpoint. Look for unsanitized input fields where JavaScript could be injected and stored. Manually review stored records for suspicious scripts in the Nombre field. Use browser developer tools to check if injected scripts execute when viewing affected records.

Impact Analysis

An attacker with authenticated access could inject malicious scripts into delivery notes. When other users view these notes, the scripts run in their browsers, potentially stealing session cookies, redirecting to phishing pages, or performing unauthorized actions on their behalf. This could lead to data theft, account compromise, or reputational damage.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could violate GDPR by enabling unauthorized access to user data through script execution. For HIPAA, it may compromise protected health information if exploited in a healthcare context. Both standards require protecting user data from unauthorized access or modification, which this vulnerability undermines.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply input validation and output encoding to the Nombre field in the '/Inmuebles/Create' endpoint. Sanitize all user-supplied data before storage. Implement Content Security Policy (CSP) headers to mitigate XSS impact. Ensure authenticated users have least-privilege access to the delivery note functionality.
