Executive Summary

This is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Alosuite affecting the delivery note functionality. It occurs due to insufficient sanitization and encoding of certain fields, allowing JavaScript code to be stored in the application. When other users view these records, the malicious script executes in their browsers, potentially altering displayed content or performing actions within their session.

Detection Guidance

Detecting this stored XSS vulnerability requires checking the delivery note functionality in Alosuite, specifically the '/PlantillasMail/Edit' endpoint. Look for unsanitized input fields where JavaScript could be injected. Manually review stored data in the application for suspicious scripts or payloads. Use browser developer tools to inspect rendered content for unexpected JavaScript execution.

Impact Analysis

An attacker with authenticated access could inject malicious scripts that execute in other users' browsers. This could lead to session hijacking, unauthorized actions performed on behalf of users, or defacement of displayed content. The impact depends on user privileges and the sensitivity of the data accessed.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could compromise data confidentiality and integrity, violating GDPR principles like data protection by design and HIPAA requirements for safeguarding protected health information. It may lead to unauthorized access, data breaches, or loss of audit trail integrity, potentially resulting in regulatory penalties.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately apply input validation and output encoding to all fields in the '/PlantillasMail/Edit' endpoint. Ensure all user-supplied data is sanitized before storage and properly encoded when rendered. Restrict authenticated access to the vulnerable functionality if possible. Monitor for unusual activity or unauthorized changes in the application.
