Executive Summary

This vulnerability is an Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR) in the Premium Packages WordPress plugin before version 7.3.1. It allows unauthenticated users who know a guest order's identifier to view sensitive order details such as order status, payment status, and total without verifying ownership.

Detection Guidance

Check if the Premium Packages WordPress plugin is installed and verify its version. If it is below 7.3.1, the system is vulnerable. Use commands like 'wp plugin list' in WordPress or inspect the plugin directory for version details.

Impact Analysis

If you use the Premium Packages plugin before version 7.3.1, an attacker could access private order information of guest users by guessing or knowing order identifiers. This could lead to data leaks, financial exposure, or reputational damage for your business.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could violate GDPR by exposing personal data without consent and HIPAA by leaking protected health information if orders involve such data. Non-compliance may result in legal penalties and loss of trust.

Mitigation Strategies

Update the Premium Packages plugin to version 7.3.1 or later immediately. If updating is not possible, consider disabling the plugin temporarily until an update is applied.
