CWE ID Description
CWE-74 The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component.
CWE-89 The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.

Executive Summary

CVE-2026-120347 is an unauthenticated SQL injection vulnerability in XunRuiCMS versions up to 4.7.4. It allows attackers to inject malicious SQL code via the catid parameter in the Member Module's View function. This can lead to unauthorized database access, including sensitive data like password hashes.

Detection Guidance

To detect this SQL injection vulnerability in XunRuiCMS, monitor for unusual requests to the member API endpoint with manipulated catid parameters. Use tools like sqlmap to test for boolean-based blind SQL injection by sending payloads such as catid=1 AND 1=1 or catid=1 AND 1=2 and observing response differences. Check web server logs for repeated requests to dayrui/Fcms/Core/View.php with suspicious query strings.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability can allow attackers to read arbitrary data from the database, steal credentials, and potentially take over back-end accounts. It enables full database access and can be exploited remotely without authentication. The impact includes data breaches and system compromise.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability can lead to unauthorized access to sensitive data, which may violate GDPR and HIPAA compliance requirements. It risks exposing personal data, health information, or other regulated data, potentially resulting in legal penalties and reputational damage.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately upgrade XunRuiCMS to the patched version using the provided patch 9b6ea0cf9c6e8cdc9a5260c38b95da5fed4c4231. If upgrading is not possible, apply input validation to sanitize the catid parameter and enforce strict type casting. Disable the vulnerable member API module if unused. Restrict database user privileges to limit potential damage from SQL injection.
