Executive Summary

CVE-2026-120349 is a code injection vulnerability in XunRuiCMS versions up to 4.7.4. It allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code by manipulating the dirname parameter in the mobile-site directory function. The flaw occurs because user input is not properly escaped when generating PHP files, enabling attackers to inject malicious code that executes on the server.

Detection Guidance

Check for unauthorized PHP files in the web root, particularly in the mobile site directory. Look for files with unusual names or recent modification dates. Inspect the index.php file in /var/www/html/zzmob/ for unexpected code injections or modifications. Review server logs for requests containing suspicious directory name parameters.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability can lead to remote code execution, allowing attackers to take full control of the affected server. They could steal sensitive data, install malware, deface websites, or use the server for further attacks. The exploit requires only a single authenticated request and persists even if configurations are restored.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability likely violates compliance requirements for data protection and security, such as GDPR and HIPAA, due to unauthorized code execution and potential data breaches. It demonstrates inadequate security controls, which could result in regulatory fines and reputational damage.

Mitigation Strategies

Update XunRuiCMS to the latest version if available. If not, restrict write permissions to the web root and mobile site directory. Implement strict input validation for directory name parameters. Remove any unauthorized PHP files and restore from a clean backup. Apply least privilege to the web server user and disable PHP execution in the mobile site directory if possible.
