Description

CFNext before 3.1.0 contains a weak cryptographic derivation vulnerability that allows subscription link holders to recover the admin password because the subscription UUID is an MD5 of the password with a fixed public salt. Attackers can brute-force the password offline without rate limiting, log into the admin panel, and read stored Trojan, Clash, Telegram and Cloudflare API secrets.

Executive Summary

CFNext before version 3.1.0 has a weak cryptographic flaw where the admin password is derived using an MD5 hash with a fixed public salt. The subscription UUID is generated from this hash, allowing attackers to brute-force the password offline. Once recovered, they gain admin access to the panel and can steal stored secrets like Trojan, Clash, Telegram, and Cloudflare API credentials.

Detection Guidance

Check CFNext versions before 3.1.0 by inspecting the deployed JavaScript files like CFNext-ζ˜Žζ–‡η‰ˆ.js or CFNext-ε°θ―΄ζ··ζ·†η‰ˆ.js for MD5-based UUID generation logic. Look for hardcoded salt strings like '|CFNext' in the codebase. Monitor network traffic for admin session cookies derived from unsalted MD5 hashes of passwords.

Impact Analysis

If you use CFNext before 3.1.0, attackers can recover your admin password from a subscription link, log into the admin panel, and access sensitive secrets stored in the system. This could lead to unauthorized control of your proxy subscription management panel and exposure of credentials for other services.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access and exposure of sensitive data, violating GDPR's data protection requirements and HIPAA's security rules for protected health information. Organizations using affected versions may face compliance breaches, legal penalties, and reputational damage due to potential data leaks.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade CFNext to version 3.1.0 or later immediately. Rotate all admin passwords and secrets stored in the panel. Ensure the environment variable U is set to enable random session secrets. Disable any exposed admin panels until patched.
