Description

Stonewuu ai-fusion-video before 1.3.0 contains an insecure direct object reference vulnerability that allows authenticated users to access other users' projects by supplying unscoped object ids. Attackers can enumerate auto-increment ids on /api/project, /api/asset and /api/script handlers to read, overwrite, cascade-delete data, and add themselves as project members.

Executive Summary

CVE-2026-121940 is an Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR) or Broken Object-Level Authorization (BOLA) vulnerability in Stonewuu ai-fusion-video before version 1.3.0. It allows authenticated users to access, modify, or delete other users' projects, assets, and scripts by exploiting missing authorization checks. The flaw occurs because the system only verifies authentication via bearer tokens but does not enforce ownership validation for objects. Attackers can enumerate auto-increment IDs to perform unauthorized actions across tenant boundaries.

Detection Guidance

To detect this IDOR vulnerability, check if your ai-fusion-video instance is running version 1.2.0 or earlier. Test endpoints like /api/project, /api/asset, and /api/script by sending authenticated requests with varying numeric IDs to see if unauthorized data access occurs. Monitor logs for unexpected access patterns or errors.

Impact Analysis

If you are an authenticated user of Stonewuu ai-fusion-video before version 1.3.0, an attacker with a valid account could read, edit, or delete your projects, assets, and scripts. They could also add themselves as project members, cascade-delete entire projects, and access sensitive data belonging to other users. This could lead to data loss, unauthorized modifications, and exposure of confidential information.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability likely violates GDPR and HIPAA compliance requirements for data confidentiality, integrity, and access controls. GDPR mandates strict protection of personal data, while HIPAA requires safeguards to prevent unauthorized access to protected health information. The IDOR flaw enables unauthorized data access and modification, which could result in regulatory penalties, legal liabilities, and reputational damage for organizations using the affected software.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade ai-fusion-video to version 1.3.0 or later immediately. Ensure all object-scoped endpoints enforce ownership checks using methods like ProjectService.canAccessProject. Review and update all controllers to validate object ownership before allowing access.
