Executive Summary

CVE-2026-124426 is an authorization bypass vulnerability in Craft CMS versions 5.0.0 to 5.11.1. It allows unauthenticated attackers to read content from sites outside a GraphQL schema's Sites scope by sending a POST request to /actions/graphql/api without the siteId argument when querying a localized field.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, check Craft CMS versions before 5.11.2. Send a POST request to /actions/graphql/api with a localized field query omitting the siteId argument. If out-of-scope site content is returned, the system is vulnerable.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability enables attackers to access restricted site content without authentication, potentially exposing sensitive data. It requires a multi-site Craft CMS installation with at least two sites and a GraphQL schema excluding at least one site.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized data exposure, violating compliance requirements like GDPR (data protection) and HIPAA (health information privacy) by allowing access to restricted content without proper authorization.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade Craft CMS to version 5.11.2 or later immediately. If upgrading is not possible, restrict access to the /actions/graphql/api endpoint and ensure GraphQL schemas enforce siteId arguments for localized fields.
