Executive Summary

This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers with low privileges to bypass audit logging in HPE Networking Fabric Composer's API. By exploiting this, attackers can hide their activities from system logs, making unauthorized actions undetectable.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could perform malicious actions without leaving a trace in audit logs. This increases the risk of undetected breaches, data theft, or system compromise. Organizations relying on audit logs for security monitoring are particularly vulnerable.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability undermines compliance by preventing proper audit trail maintenance. GDPR requires logging for accountability, while HIPAA mandates audit controls for protected health information. Failure to log activities could result in non-compliance penalties.

Mitigation Strategies

Apply the latest security patches or updates provided by HPE for Fabric Composer to address the audit log bypass vulnerability. Ensure all authenticated users follow least privilege principles and monitor audit logs for suspicious activity.
