Blind SQL Injection in SuiteCRM Portal API

Vulnerability report for CVE-2026-97377, including description, CVSS score, EPSS score, affected products, exploitability, helpful resources, and attack-flow context.

Description

SuiteCRM is an open-source, enterprise-ready Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software application. Prior to 7.15.2 and 8.10.2, the legacy SOAP portal method portal_get_entry_list propagates caller-controlled where and order_by values into SQL query construction without sufficient neutralization. A low-privileged portal API user can perform blind SQL injection to disclose database metadata and sensitive records, affect query behavior, and consume resources. This issue is fixed in versions 7.15.2 and 8.10.2.

CWE ID Description
CWE-89 The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Without sufficient removal or quoting of SQL syntax in user-controllable inputs, the generated SQL query can cause those inputs to be interpreted as SQL instead of ordinary user data.

Executive Summary

SuiteCRM versions before 7.15.2 and 8.10.2 have a vulnerability in the legacy SOAP portal method portal_get_entry_list. The method does not properly neutralize user-controlled inputs for where and order_by parameters, allowing SQL injection. A low-privileged portal API user can exploit this to perform blind SQL injection, disclose database metadata, access sensitive records, manipulate data, or consume system resources.

Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, monitor for unusual SQL query patterns or errors in your SuiteCRM logs. Check for blind SQL injection attempts targeting the portal_get_entry_list SOAP method. Use network traffic analysis tools like Wireshark or tcpdump to inspect SOAP requests containing where or order_by parameters with suspicious SQL syntax.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows attackers with low privileges to extract sensitive data, manipulate database records, degrade system performance, or in MySQL environments with FILE privileges, execute remote code. The impact includes unauthorized data access, data corruption, and potential system downtime due to resource exhaustion.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability can lead to unauthorized access to sensitive personal data, violating GDPR and HIPAA compliance requirements. It may result in data breaches, unauthorized disclosures, and failure to protect personally identifiable information, potentially leading to legal penalties and reputational damage.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately upgrade SuiteCRM to versions 7.15.2 or 8.10.2 or later. If upgrading is not possible, disable the legacy SOAP portal method portal_get_entry_list in your SuiteCRM configuration. Apply strict input validation for all SOAP API parameters, especially where and order_by fields.
