Detection Guidance

To detect this vulnerability, check your Ghost version. If it is between 5.3.0 and 6.58.0, it is vulnerable. Run 'ghost version' in your Ghost CLI or check the version in your Docker container logs.

Impact Analysis

This vulnerability allows unauthorized users to read private comments on Ghost sites running vulnerable versions. It compromises confidentiality by exposing sensitive information meant to be restricted. Users should update to version 6.58.0 or later to mitigate the risk.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to non-compliance with privacy regulations like GDPR or HIPAA by exposing private user data. Unauthorized access to restricted comments may violate data protection requirements, potentially resulting in legal or regulatory penalties.

Mitigation Strategies

Update Ghost to version 6.58.0 or later immediately. For Docker users, pull the latest image and restart the container. For Ghost-CLI users, run 'ghost update' to upgrade.
