Executive Summary

YesWiki before version 4.6.7 has a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the Bazar valeur action. This allows page editors to make the server fetch arbitrary URLs by supplying loopback or internal URLs in the url parameter. The server may then inject unescaped remote HTML, which can execute scripts in the browsers of users viewing the page.

Detection Guidance

Check YesWiki installations for versions before 4.6.7. Look for unusual outbound requests from the server, especially to internal or loopback addresses. Inspect logs for Bazar valeur action usage with external URLs.

Impact Analysis

An attacker with page editing privileges could exploit this to probe internal services on your network, potentially accessing sensitive data or internal systems. They could also inject malicious scripts that run in the browsers of other users viewing the page, leading to data theft or unauthorized actions on behalf of users.

Compliance Impact

This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to personal data, violating GDPR and HIPAA requirements for data protection and access controls. Organizations may face compliance breaches, legal penalties, and reputational damage if exploited.

Mitigation Strategies

Upgrade YesWiki to version 4.6.7 or later. Restrict access to the Bazar valeur action for untrusted users. Monitor network traffic for suspicious outbound connections from the server.
