Executive Summary

This is a Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Repasat application. It allows an attacker to inject malicious scripts into web pages viewed by users. The vulnerable parameter is 'nomDelegacion' in the '/es/delegations/store' endpoint.

Detection Guidance

To detect this Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in the Repasat application, inspect HTTP requests to the /es/delegations/store endpoint for the nomDelegacion parameter. Look for unusual input patterns or script tags in requests or responses. Manual testing can involve sending crafted inputs to the parameter and checking for reflected or stored XSS behavior.

Impact Analysis

An attacker could trick you into executing arbitrary code in your browser. This might lead to stealing session cookies, redirecting you to malicious sites, or capturing sensitive data you enter on the page.

Compliance Impact

XSS vulnerabilities can lead to unauthorized access to personal data, violating GDPR and HIPAA requirements for data protection and confidentiality. Organizations may face compliance penalties if this vulnerability exposes sensitive user information.

Mitigation Strategies

Immediately apply input validation and output encoding to the nomDelegacion parameter. Ensure all user inputs are sanitized and properly escaped before rendering in the browser. Update the Repasat application to the latest patched version if available. Monitor for any suspicious activity related to this endpoint.
